Learn the fundamental skills, be creative and learn the basic steps and tool applications you need to start working with leather to create a functional leather clutch.

Discover a new and exciting approach to working with veg tanned leathers, learning various steps and techniques on moisture content, how to use leather craft tools to create interesting patterns, how to colour your project and then finish the clutch purse with a Kangaroo thong laced edge, adding your personal touch.
Students are encouraged to develop their own individual styles and are helped to experiment and explore the creative potential of leather. Along the way you will also gain some insight into the different types of leather, its structure and layers, find out the difference between ‘full-grain’ and ‘genuine’ leather, how to properly care for your leather items.
You tutor will supply all the tools and materials required to make your project; you just need to be willing to learn. All tools and equipment supplied by the tutor for you to use during the workshops.
What you will learn
Techniques including cutting, creative stamping, how to colour, finishing edges, how to lace, set rivets, snaps and other hardware.
Light refreshments included.
PLEASE NOTE: ****Each student will have the choice to make one large Crescent Moon purse or two smaller half moon coin purses, all finished with kangaroo bound laced edges, to give the crafted look.
